The California Invasive Species List
Why was the list created?
The ISCC asked the CISAC to create a list of “invasive species that have a reasonable likelihood of entering or have entered California for which an exclusion, detection, eradication, control or management action by the state might be taken" (CISAC Charter, Article IIIB). The CISAC worked with the U.C. Davis Information Center for the Environment to develop an online tool for creating and maintaining a “living” list of invasive species in California. The list draws from numerous sources, engages a variety of experts and supports continuous updating.
